About the position

Collins Aerospace's Strategic Solutions team is looking for an exceptionally motivated Engineer that is passionate about collaborating with High-Performance Teams to create mission critical solutions supporting Integrated Mission Systems. Our Sr. Principal Software Product Owner/CAM Engineer will work in an exciting, adaptive, and engaging environment enabling rapid learning to drive success. The candidate will serve as Product Owner and CAM for a Software Team Interacting with the Systems Engineering Team, Software Architects, Scrum Masters, and Software Engineers, supporting a large program. This position will support the shaping of the future of NC3 defense systems for the armed forces. This position is located onsite in Richardson, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Act as Product Owner, bridging the Software Team and the Systems Engineering Team, helping to define and manage the backlog and execution.
  • Work directly with the IPT Lead, Scrum Masters and Software Engineers performing Software-Systems work used in a Mission Critical System program.
  • Act as the CAM (Control Account Manager) for the scope related to your team, ensuring flawless execution.
  • Interact with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in a large program.
  • Mentor Interns, Junior, Senior, and Principal engineers.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • Previous experience as Product Owner following Agile / SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework).
  • Previous experience with EVMS (Earned Value Management System).
  • Previous experience as CAM (Control Account Manager).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Agile SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
  • Experience with Requirements Management (Decomposition, Derivation).
  • Experience as a Software-System engineer.
  • Experience with UML, SysML, MBSE and CAMEO Modeling tools.
  • Experience with Jira.
