About the position

As a Senior Product Designer at Fiserv, you will be responsible for designing the interactions between merchants and their customers, focusing on merchant point of sale experiences, consumer payment experiences, and mobile applications. Your role will involve solving real-world challenges faced by a diverse set of user types, from Michelin-starred restaurants to contractors on-the-go. You will work in a highly collaborative team environment, applying your expertise to research, create, test, and iterate ideas from concept to finished product experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain a portfolio of elegant solutions that effectively balance aesthetics and usability, iterating based on user research and analytical insights.
  • Actively collaborate with colleagues, seeking and incorporating feedback to foster a shared understanding and co-create the best possible solutions.
  • Clearly articulate and present design processes and decisions, utilizing both verbal and visual communication to convey rationale.
  • Translate ideal design solutions into practical, implementable products by skillfully navigating constraints and stakeholder requirements.
  • Apply a diverse range of research, ideation, and prototyping methodologies, continuously seeking to learn and integrate new approaches from team members.
  • Demonstrate a passion for design, committed to delivering exceptional product experiences by meticulously ensuring both functionality and user satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 5 years' experience designing digital experiences.
  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable design discipline or a related field.
  • Familiarity with a range of design methods, including lightweight research, user journey mapping, prototyping, wireframes, and visual design.
  • Proficiency in Figma and willingness to adapt to new tools.
  • Experience designing native mobile and responsive web applications with consumer-grade visual polish.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience designing product navigation, guidance, onboarding, and help; and/or experience with design systems, component libraries, and design for accessibility.
  • First-hand experience working for a small business.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the design of new product features and the facility to bring cross-functional peers together to move projects forward.
