About the position

Siemens EDA is a global technology leader in Electronic Design Automation software. Our software tools enable companies around the world to develop highly innovative electronic products faster and more cost-effectively. Our customers use our tools to push the boundaries of technology and physics to deliver better products in the increasingly complex world of chip, board, and system design. Siemens EDA is looking for an experienced analog Design Engineer, Layout Engineer or Applications Engineer to play a critical role in our US-based R&D team. This role reports into the Custom IC Design business unit. You will be a key technologist on the team, leading engagements with prospective customers, managing critical customer relationships, leading -- by example and through training -- junior engineers within and outside the business unit, and ensuring technical and sales success.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the field organization in helping to identify, engage and close prospective customers
  • Manage prospective customer engagements for the business unit
  • Collaborate closely with prospective customers to understand their requirements integrated circuit design
  • Match customer requirements to tool capabilities, articulate to customers how the tools meet their needs
  • Work with customers to understand their design data and migrate that data into the custom tool set
  • Create and deliver engaging presentations, demos and training sessions to prospective customers
  • Work with Product Engineering on future enhancements to the tool set that better match customer needs
  • Present technical information effectively at customer meetings and trade shows
  • Troubleshoot tool issues, provide workarounds, and file bug reports and enhancement requests
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge and expertise in the field
  • Operate independently on highly complex projects with significant autonomy and discretion

Requirements

  • Ideal candidate will have a BS/MS in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent
  • Candidates with strong analog layout design who do not have formal degrees are encouraged to apply
  • Minimum of 3-10 years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience with either custom/analog integrated circuit design or layout design
  • Experience with Cadence Virtuoso and/or Synopsys Custom Compiler
