About the position

Kemin Animal Nutrition & Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Product Manager for Intestinal Health. This role is pivotal in managing and strategizing the marketing of our intestinal health product portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management and product marketing strategy for several products within the platform, supporting the product lifecycle of each product.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies and platform marketing plans to drive sales and profitability of the intestinal health portfolio.
  • Oversee the product lifecycle, from development to market launch, ensuring adherence to high product standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce new products and identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Ensure continuous improvement and growth of the intestinal health platform.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing products and achieving budget.
  • Responsible for leading global product strategy including strategic marketing and new business.
  • Oversee product line life cycles from strategic planning to tactical.
  • Maximize market share and gross margin growth for product line(s) to maximize revenue, gross and market share.
  • Responsible for setting pricing strategy, including pricing and volume discount schedules.
  • Lead the development of communication plans (positioning, target, tactics) and packaging.
  • Develop, publish and communicate the annual marketing plan for assigned products.
  • Conduct market analysis to monitor competitive products, sales, share and marketing activities.
  • Translate research data into product performance updates, technical bulletins, and sales/marketing.
  • Provide marketing expertise, support and education to the commercial team for successful sales.
  • Manage advertising and promotion activities, including print, point-of-sale, online, electronic media, and direct mail.
  • Create and make presentations to customers at the request of commercial.
  • Develop and provide input to reports that track and measure key performance.
  • Drive Product Innovation Process through new product concept submissions.
  • Drive cross-functional product development teams leading to the launch of meaningful new products.
  • Leading customer strategy with commercial.
  • Develop and manage global strategic alliances, and develop and support the negotiation of commercial deal terms with alliances.
  • Responsible for mentoring and training product management team.
  • Develop and manage a consistent corporate image throughout product lines, promotional materials, and events.
  • Work with Research and Development and Technical Services to further strengthen product story through product research initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in product management, preferably within the animal health or nutrition industry.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • A commitment to innovation and excellence.
  • Masters of Business Administration (MBA), with Animal science background, 7+ years of related Product Management experience.
  • Bachelor Degree, in Marketing and Animal science background, with 10+ years of related experience.
  • At least 3+ years of related Project Management work (PMP certified is preferred).
  • Accomplished industry knowledge and experience.
  • Background must include strategic marketing experience.
  • Must be proactive, self-motivated, energetic, business-minded manager with a broad scientific/technical aptitude knowledge base.
  • Experience as an effective product manager, project team player, leader and motivator.
  • Demonstrated achievement of product sales objectives and financial targets.
  • Strong cross functional team, leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong financial skills; especially the ability to understand financial statements and to analytically evaluate and understand product costs, margin, pricing and market share.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving, and critical thinking.
  • Requires a marketing mentality combined with marketing training and experience as it relates to marketing products in the industry.
  • Demonstrated integrity and honesty in all interactions.
  • A good understanding of the chemical and biological sciences as they apply to the production of company specific products.
