About the position

As a Product Manager at Master Lock, you'll be the go-to expert for our consumer security product line, with a focus on major retail channels. You’ll manage the full product lifecycle—from strategic planning and market analysis to product launches and end-of-life transitions. Your mission will be to drive innovation in physical and smart security solutions that protect what matters most to our customers. In this role, you’ll collaborate cross-functionally to develop and execute a 3-year product roadmap, optimize revenue and margin through strategic pricing, and ensure alignment with Master Lock’s brand and security innovation goals. You’ll lead cross-functional teams through product development, provide key insights for situation analysis, and partner with Channel Marketing to craft compelling go-to-market strategies tailored to the evolving security landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Develop long range strategic plans with annual updates for product, channel, process, and business opportunities.
  • Plan and manage new product development projects through the entirety of a stage-gate process.
  • Drive category captain leadership with external customers by leveraging analytics/insights for our markets, end users and channels.
  • Collaborate with sales, finance, and revenue growth management teams to execute product line reviews and assortment updates.
  • Deliver on P&L targets for assigned product categories.
  • Manage the full lifecycle for the assigned portfolio from NPD through obsolescence and inventory disposition.
  • Leverage and drive market research and consumer understanding to identify new product opportunities.
  • Plan product line pricing, pricing strategy and manage profitability in line with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with Brand, Channel Marketing, Digital and Commercialization teams to support development of sales assets.
  • Train internal and external customers on products, marketing programs and business developments.
  • Communicate regularly with field sales associates with occasional travel to key accounts and end users.
  • Respond to daily customer and field sales inquiries, requests, and concerns.
  • Develop library and database of relevant markets and competitors and complimentary offerings.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business or engineering is required.
  • An MBA is highly desirable.
  • Practical knowledge and experience with the new product development process.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in product management, marketing or engineering.
  • Ability to interpret and leverage insights from pro forma and other financial analysis tools is required.
  • Prior industry experience in security is preferred/ideal.
  • Highly collaborative, flexibility and communication skills.
  • Experience with connected products/IoT is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and Oracle.
