About the position

This position works out of our SH division at the Santa Clara, CA location. Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of STRUCTURAL HEART disease. We aim to lead the markets we serve by requiring the solutions we offer customers provide an improved benefit/risk profile as compared to existing standards of care; a performance threshold that guides and ensures the productive output of our engineering, business development, and clinical research efforts result in outcomes that advance the standard of care.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain worldwide market expertise for MitraClip, TriClip and relative Structural Heart technologies, including in-depth knowledge of US competitor products and strategies, market trends and dynamics, market/franchise critical success factors, and customer needs.
  • Develop and create best in market product messaging and collaborate with global marketing and field team to market test messaging feasibility.
  • Develop strategies to address product performance issues.
  • Develop and update annual marketing plans/strategies including market analysis, customer segmentation and targeting, product positioning, competitive assessments, and SWOT or other situation assessment.
  • Create and develop US specific strategies for new product launches.
  • Support launch readiness by developing product inventory timing, marketing programs, and working with communications manager to develop promotional collateral.
  • Take a leadership role on project teams to work closely with the project manager to drive accountability and team achievement of goals and milestones.
  • Manage creative agencies to plan, develop, and execute new US materials.
  • Partner with regulatory colleagues in the review and negotiation of materials to ensure competitiveness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Develop plan & update US forecasts and justification for respective product lines worldwide and present to BU senior management.
  • Work with clinical team to develop and drive strategic publication initiatives within the US.

Requirements

  • Prior marketing experience within medical device or healthcare industry.
  • Bachelors' Degree with 6+ years related marketing or product management experience. MBA with 1+ years of related experience also considered.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time.
  • Substantial financial skills, market analysis and advanced communication skills.
  • Knowledge/ability to develop and execute a new product launch.
  • Strong analytical skills as well as written and oral communication skills.
