As a Senior Program Manager for New Product Development, you will lead the end-to-end process of bringing new products to market by managing all activities required to define, design, develop, and deliver new Neurovascular products or therapies to Medtronic customers. You will be responsible for defining the strategy, developing detailed project plans, managing budgets and timelines, and leading cross-functional teams on one or more complex product development programs from concept to successful product launches. You will drive execution, proactively identify and resolve risks, and ensure high-quality product delivery utilizing project management methodology from concept to launch. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential. You will leverage your expertise in product development methodologies to deliver innovative products that meet customer needs and achieve business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and motivates cross-functional teams to evaluate, develop and manage projects for new product development and ongoing lifecycle management of products, processes and therapies, ensuring they aligned with the business goals.
  • Lead cross-functional team to meet program objectives including scope, budget and schedule and develop project timeline consistent with business strategy and expectations.
  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and management.
  • Manages the development and implementation process of a company’s products and services involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products and processes.
  • Holds accountability for the overall program process, performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Motivates and develops team members, including vendors, ensuring clear understanding of expectations and performance standards to successfully complete major programs or projects.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and resource allocation for assigned programs, ensuring alignment with business strategies and applicable medical device regulations.
  • Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
  • Monitors the project from initiation through launch.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving.
  • Evaluate and manage of resource and skillset needs to meet program deliverables.
  • Manage project risks and issues by working with the cross-functional team to develop and maintain risk burndown plans.
  • Gathers requirements, works on requirements planning, requirements elicitation and requirements management to ensure they meet demands of project’s key stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicates with stakeholders on project progress, risks and issues, providing regular updates on project progress and strategic impact.
  • Obtains stakeholder engagement to ensure the end products or processes will solve the business problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 7+ years of relevant experience (or 5+ years with an advanced degree).

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience with bachelor’s degree or 13+ years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Medical device development experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading multiple successful projects that met business and product objectives.
  • Cross-functional knowledge and/or experience.
  • Ability to build a strong cohesive cross-functional team through motivational and teambuilding skills.
  • Ability to lead within complex organizations requiring strong influence management skills.
  • Good communication (oral and written), presentation and interpersonal skills.

  • Mastery of project management skills; knowledge of process and project planning best practices.
  • Ability to work cooperatively at all levels in matrix environment to build and maintain the positive relationships required to accomplish organizational goals.
  • Demonstrates initiative; results oriented.
  • Effective decision-making skills - ability to negotiate and balance decisions and priorities across needs of several functional departments.
  • Makes timely decisions in the face of risk and uncertainty.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Must be professional, dedicated, and detail-oriented.
  • Lean six sigma methodology / DFSS / DRM.
  • Experience actively managing complex projects from concept to launch within large cross-functional teams, focusing on product development and execution through comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and cost/benefit analysis.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with demonstrated ability to lead meetings and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers and vendors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate leadership team and business updates.
  • Proven influencing skills across functions and programs.
