We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Development Engineer with a focus on developing complex systems in C++, to work onsite in Fort Wayne, IN. This position will support the AN/TPY-2 missile defense program and the Battle Management Software (BMS) Department.

Responsibilities

  • Be part of the BMS Software mission to provide world class Radar and Command and Control (C2) Software for our customers’ wide array of Surveillance and Warning Systems.
  • Design, develop, and test software based on software trouble reports in an agile, collaborative environment, delivering build to site twice a year.
  • Participate in agile execution and continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with systems and SI&T engineers to analyze, implement, and test system modification requests to the existing system baseline.
  • Potential to travel to customer site (up to 50%) for software build install and test, as needed.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • At least 5 years of relevant software engineering experience.
  • Experience coding in C, C++ or/and Ada.
  • Experience with Script languages (C shell, Perl).
  • Experience in scripting using Python or similar.
  • Some experience using debugging tools to quickly identify and fix software bugs, as well as optimize code for performance.
  • Active and transferrable final Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • US citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience on XBR, AN/TPY-2, COBRA DANE, QEWR, UEWR, SRP or other current missile defense programs.
  • Experience developing software using C++ Environments and with C++ Unit Test Frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Redhat and Linux Operating Systems.
  • Experience working in Agile environments such as scrum, scrum at scale, SAFe and DevSecOps.
  • Experience with Atlassian, Test Automation, DevSecOps, and CI/CD processes.
  • Experience with tools such as Confluence, VS Code, Jira, Jenkins, and Junit.
  • Experience in system design, development, integration/verification, production, and sustainment.
  • Experience across the product development life cycle.
  • Excellent communications skills, verbal and written, with technical, customer and leadership audiences.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Proven ability and desire to facilitate career growth and knowledge transfer.
  • Proven ability to develop technical solutions to complex issues.
  • Familiarity with DOORS, and MS Office.
