About the position

Every day, Bloomberg's clients rely on secure and seamless access to our products. Our team makes that possible by building infrastructure that verifies identities for both clients and employees. We design systems that are fast, resilient, and highly available, capable of handling large volumes of authentication traffic around the clock. We are responsible for Single Sign-On (SSO) infrastructure, Multi-factor authentication (MFA) enrollment and verification, MFA policy management systems, and identity translation infrastructure. We are embarking on an initiative to modernize and unify Bloomberg's authentication landscape. Your work will directly affect the experience of Bloomberg's employees and clients worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Design curated tools that help internal developers build secure-by-default applications
  • Develop an attribute-based policy system for centralized and dynamic risk-based authentication
  • Unify authentication workflows across products and technology stacks

Requirements

  • 4+ years working with an object-oriented programming language (C/C++, Python, Java, Go, etc.)
  • Experience working with authentication and authorization workflows and protocols (e.g. OAuth2.0, OIDC, SAML, FIDO)
  • Demonstrated expertise in security concepts
  • A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, similar field of study or equivalent work experience
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
