About the position
We are seeking a Senior Engineer to join our DAAS (Data as a Service) team within the Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) zone. DAAS is a key offering in the IDP zone, which aims at streamlining technology management and enhancing developer productivity at athenahealth, while ensuring that our products function seamlessly within an open ecosystem. The DAAS team delivers a high-performance, HiTrust-compliant, and scalable solution for storing and managing healthcare-specific data for athena's applications. Our team is responsible for developing and maintaining a managed PostgreSQL environment and java SDK for other application teams. You will engage with a diverse set of technologies, including AWS RDS for PostgreSQL, Java, Jenkins, Harness, Bitbucket, Kubernetes. In your role as a Senior Software Engineer, you will collaborate both within your team and across the organization to onboard internal applications, ensure system stability and compliance, and enhance overall experience for our internal customers.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop code in agile environment

Requirements
- 4+ years of software engineering experience
- Proficient in PostgreSQL, Java-based technologies, and other AWS services
- Experience working in an Agile environment at the enterprise level
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with AWS DevOps practices is desirable
- Python, DynamoDB, Node.js and AI/ML experience is a plus
