Senior Software Engineer II- Cloud

About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled individual to lead complex Software Engineering and Architecture initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public cloud architecture, cloud strategy, networking, and security. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership capabilities to drive innovative solutions and ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex Software Engineering and Architecture initiatives.
• Develop and implement cloud strategies and architectures.
• Manage enterprise applications and IT services, including SaaS solutions.
• Suggest competitive and innovative technical decisions and obtain client buy-in.
• Contribute to financial business decisions in the workplace.
• Provide direct and indirect leadership to cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of experience leading complex Software Engineering and Architecture initiatives OR a High School Diploma/GED and at least 7 years of experience leading complex Software Engineering and Architecture initiatives.
• Experience with public cloud architecture, cloud strategy, networking, and security.
• Experience with enterprise applications, IT services, and SaaS solution providers.
• Knowledge of cloud management and cost models with experience implementing best practices or suggested improvements.
• At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial business decisions in the workplace.
• At least 2 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership, and/or cross-functional team leadership.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes.

Nice-to-haves

• Expert level Microsoft Certification in Engineering or Architecture path.
• Experience leading efforts and working with highly technical teams in a matrix organization.
• Knowledge of application & data architectures and cloud native patterns for development.
• Experience leading collaborative teams to achieve common goals.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) design, focusing on Open Tofu or Terraform or similar languages.
• Experience in large scale internet-presence companies/technologies, where uptime and continuous availability is core to the business.
• Experience identifying and partnering to implement automation opportunities to drive down toil and reduce technical debt.
• Experience identifying operational issues and recommending/implementing strategies to resolve problems.
• Experience applying standards of cloud compliance to application design to achieve reliability.
• Knowledge of Networking and Cloud technologies, including Security, Load Balancing, and Network routing protocols.

Benefits

• Salary Range: $127500 - $204000 / Salaried
