About the position

We embrace a hybrid work model, with specific in-office days to encourage collaboration. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (JavaScript) to join our JavaScript SDK team and help redefine the future of JavaScript development. This role involves tackling complex challenges across the JavaScript ecosystem and leveraging AI to craft elegant, high-impact code. You will work on cutting-edge SDKs for the browser, React, Node.js, and Next.js, and be involved in building essential tools that empower millions of developers globally.

Responsibilities

  • Join the JavaScript SDK team to build the future of JavaScript development.
  • Work on an extensive suite of JavaScript SDKs, focusing on the Next.js SDK.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of projects, from planning to implementation and shipping code.
  • Utilize AI tools to enhance productivity and focus on solving complex problems.
  • Collaborate with the open-source community and represent Sentry in influential organizations.
  • Assist the Customer Operations team in resolving critical bugs and engage with users on GitHub and at conferences.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, web developer, or similar role.
  • Deep expertise in developing web applications, libraries, or SDKs using TypeScript/JavaScript.
  • Hands-on experience with Next.js.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate.

Nice-to-haves

  • A history of contributing to or maintaining open-source libraries.
  • Experience engaging with open-source committees or working groups.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $200,000 to $280,000.
