Responsibilities
- Work with cross-function team to identify thermal plant model requirements for MIL/SIL/PIL/HIL/System Integration testing
- Model in detail thermal components such as heat exchangers, compressors, pumps, valves, vehicle cabin using thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer principles using Simulink
- Model in detail thermal behavior of Electrified systems such power electronics, motor-inverter, and other high voltage systems
- Assist in integrating the detailed models with SIL for thermal controls feature verification and validation
- Translate the detailed models to real-time Models to be deployed on Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL)
- Interface with hardware & controls teams to adapt their models for HIL/SIL closed-loop feature testing
- Work with requirement owners to establish validation metrics for thermal models
- Validate component, sub-system or full thermal system model against actual vehicle data from field
- Document and track modeling issues as appropriate
- Participate in triaging of model issues with various teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution
- Implement modeling best practices to accelerate development and improve fidelity of models, including runtime performance optimization, model verification and validation
- Help with scalability of model for new and upcoming products
- Participate in the design of a world-class engineering effort to bring electric vehicles to a new level of refinement
