Senior Software Engineer

About the position

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work closely with a small team to design, implement, test and deploy new features for a critical data transmission application. You will use Java and Apache NiFi in your development. In this position, you will collaborate with engineers across multiple teams which rely on your application as the interface with multiple enterprise networks. The technical roadmap envisions this application becoming the central transmission hub for all NiFi channels receiving data from the field to downstream systems. Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test and deploy new features for a critical data transmission application.
• Collaborate with engineers across multiple teams that rely on the application as an interface with multiple enterprise networks.
• Work with Java and Apache NiFi in development.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap for the application to become the central transmission hub for NiFi channels.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with relevant polygraph
• Minimum of 6 years of software development with BS/BA; Minimum of 4 years with MS/MA
• Minimum of 4 years of Java development
• Demonstrable experience working in a Linux environment
• Demonstrable experience with AWS development, familiarity with S3 buckets and EC2 instances
• Experience with Agile development methodologies

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Apache NiFi
• Experience with DevSecOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Terraform, etc.
• Experience with AWS SQS and Apache Kafka

• Competitive salary range of $112,000 - $179,000 based on experience and other factors.
