About the position

As a Software engineer within the Investments Equity, Diversified Alternative Investments and Financial Risk team you will join a development team responsible for delivering ongoing change to the suite of applications and systems comprising Janus Henderson's investment capabilities in risk and exposure analytics and reporting. Work closely with the Product Owners to understand development priorities and backlog items. Work closely with Architects and Tech Leads, ensuring that all solutions fit well within the strategic architectural vision. Performs hands-on development, adhering to the SDLC framework and practices at Janus Henderson. Carry out additional duties as assigned.

  • Collaborate with Architects and Tech Leads to ensure solutions fit within the strategic architectural vision.
  • Perform hands-on development adhering to the SDLC framework and practices.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with C# and .NET.
  • Practical knowledge of Azure or other cloud computing services.
  • Demonstrated experience with Azure DevOps, including the use of tools for CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience in working with big data technologies.
  • Practical knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Practical knowledge of Angular or Typescript.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and SOLID principles.
  • Experience in microservices development and API creation.
  • Proven ability to design and implement complex systems at scale.
  • Demonstrated experience of Test-Driven Development (TDD).

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with Snowflake and relevant certifications are advantageous.
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI.
  • Knowledge or experience in the Financial Services and Asset Management industry.
  • Familiarity with investment risk systems, preferably MSCI Risk Metrics or MSCI Barra One.
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed development teams.
