About the position
The Software Dev Engineer II position at Amazon.com Services LLC involves designing, developing, implementing, testing, and documenting embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services. The role requires translating functional requirements into robust, efficient, and supportable solutions that integrate well within the overall system architecture. The engineer will participate in the full development cycle, from design and implementation to testing, documentation, delivery, and maintenance. Additionally, the position includes producing comprehensive and usable software documentation, evaluating and making decisions regarding the use of new or existing software products and tools, and mentoring junior development engineers.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, test, and document embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services.
- Translate functional requirements into robust, efficient, supportable solutions.
- Participate in the full development cycle from design to maintenance.
- Produce comprehensive, usable software documentation.
- Evaluate and make decisions around the use of new or existing software products and tools.
- Mentor junior development engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- One year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
- Experience in designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- Experience in Object Oriented Design.
