About the position
Amazon World Wide Grocery Store tech (WWGST) Org’s vision is to be the most loved grocer on earth, saving customers time and money. As part of Culinary Tech within WWGST org, we focus on building automation for the prepared food production for both Store Kitchens and a new formats of centralized Kitchen facilities serving tasty/safe food to our customers. We invest in building unified tech primitives for recipe management and food production serving all banners i,e Whole Foods, Amazon Fresh and Amazon GO. We are looking for a Software Development Engineer with expertise and passion to imagine, build and develop innovative products to accelerate the Kitchen Facility Automation.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop creative solutions to complex engineering problems.
- Effectively mentor junior engineers, helping to maintain appropriate unit test coverage, code documentation, software structure and support.
- Own and deliver end to end key initiatives, maintaining effective communication with management and stakeholders.
- Identify, evaluate and suggest mitigation strategies for risks during design.
- Contribute to system design, process and development standards documentation.
- Delivering high quality code on time as part of a cross-functional team.
- Contributing to team discussions around system component design, improvement and integration.
- Designing and developing high performance, test-driven code.
- Working with and maintaining a large existing code base as well as new components; maintaining production code and contributing to deployment and QA processes.
Requirements
- Expertise in building applications in Java, C++, C#, or Python.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals (object-oriented design, algorithms and data structures).
- Good grasp of advanced systems concepts and design.
- Passion for learning and working in a quick moving, agile and highly collaborative environment.
