Job Title Software Development Engineer in Test What does a successful Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) do at Fiserv? Join our dynamic SETI (Software Engineering for Test Infrastructure) team and help shape the future of Clover’s SDKs and payment platform. We build and maintain a fleet of 40+ robots and custom automation frameworks to test Clover hardware and SDKs, empowering developers and integrators with a reliable, high-quality experience. Responsibilities

  • Test 5+ SDKs across multiple platforms (iOS/macOS, Windows, Java, JavaScript, Android) and connectivity protocols (WebSockets, REST, USB, Cloud).
  • Create, execute, and maintain automated and manual tests across diverse Clover device configurations to support monthly app releases.
  • Partner with developers to scope, document, and test new features from concept through deployment.
  • Build and run automated tests using tools like UIAutomator and custom frameworks.
  • Troubleshoot complex test failures, investigate regressions, and contribute to the continuous improvement of test infrastructure and coverage.
  • Write clear test plans and cases, report issues in Jira, and collaborate with global teams to keep release schedules on track.
  • Learn and work with a variety of languages and tools—Java, JavaScript, Swift, Ruby, Bash, Groovy, and Jenkins pipelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably Computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent combination of experience, education and military.
  • 2–5 years of experience in QA and/or software development.
  • Solid background in writing and maintaining test plans and test cases.
  • Experience testing in complex, integrated systems and environments.
  • Track record of effective manual testing and bug reporting.
  • A passion for product quality and attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and juggle multiple priorities.
  • Experience using defect tracking tools like Jira.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience testing REST APIs and working with MySQL.
  • Comfortable working in Linux/Unix environments and using SSH.
  • Familiarity with Android OS and tools (adb, Android Studio, Android concepts).
  • Hands-on experience with version control systems like Git.
  • Exposure to automated testing frameworks or languages such as UIAutomator, Espresso, JavaScript, Swift, Java, or .NET.
  • Ability to troubleshoot automation failures and identify root causes.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming (Java, Python, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Jenkins and continuous integration pipelines.
  • Understanding of point-of-sale hardware/software and mobile payment systems.
