Join a fast-moving team to develop infrastructure to train and evaluate AI models at scale to reason shopping hypothesis for JustWalkOut product in Applied AI org! The Product: JustWalkOut (JWO) is a new technology that powers stores with no lines and no checkout—you just grab and go! Customers simply use the QR code on Amazon App or credit card to enter the store, take what they want from our selection of assortments and go! Our checkout-free shopping experience is made possible by our Just Walk Out Technology, which automatically detects when products are taken from or returned to the shelves and keeps track of them in a virtual cart. When you’re done shopping, you can just leave the store. Shortly after, we’ll charge your Amazon account and send you a receipt. Check it out at amazon.com/go. Designed and custom-built by Amazonians, our Just Walk Out Technology uses a variety of technologies including computer vision, deep learning and sensor fusion. Innovation is part of our DNA! Responsibilities

  • Help solve a variety of technical challenges and mentor other engineers.
  • Translate business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables.
  • Build quick prototypes or proofs of concept in partnership with other technology leaders within the team.
  • Work closely with researchers on scaling the development of computer vision and deep learning problems.
  • Invent new features, design, develop and deploy highly scalable and reliable distributed services.
  • Work with a variety of core languages and technologies including Java, C++, Python.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
