About the position

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Enhance swift-driver and its interaction with high level build system. Expose compiler-level APIs for build systems to use for optimum build results. Ensure the Swift compiler is deterministic so build artifacts can be reliable cached. Enhance Swift compilation model to be compatible with content-addressable storage. Enhance Swift compilation model to get rid of implicit module cache. Enhance Swift compilation model to be compatible with other distributed build systems. Enhance the interaction model between Swift and Clang. Enhance the dependency scanner in the Swift compiler. 40 hours/week.

Responsibilities

• Enhance swift-driver and its interaction with high level build system.
• Expose compiler-level APIs for build systems to use for optimum build results.
• Ensure the Swift compiler is deterministic so build artifacts can be reliably cached.
• Enhance Swift compilation model to be compatible with content-addressable storage.
• Enhance Swift compilation model to get rid of implicit module cache.
• Enhance Swift compilation model to be compatible with other distributed build systems.
• Enhance the interaction model between Swift and Clang.
• Enhance the dependency scanner in the Swift compiler.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
• 2 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
• 1 year of experience with C++.
• 1 year of experience with Cmake.
• 1 year of experience with Compiler theory.
• 1 year of experience with Build system.
• 1 year of experience with llvm IR and optimization.
• 1 year of experience with Tech Writing and Communication.
• 1 year of experience with Cross-programming-language interaction.
