Software Engineer 2 - Contingent

About the position

Innova Solutions has a client that is immediately hiring for a Software Engineer. This position is a Full Time - Contract role with a duration of 12+ months, located in Irving, TX - Hybrid. As a Software Engineer, you will identify opportunities for process improvements within software engineering, review and analyze basic or tactical software engineering assignments or challenges, and present recommendations for resolving low to moderately complex situations. You will exercise independent judgment while developing an understanding of function policies, procedures, and compliance requirements, and provide information to client personnel in Software Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities for process improvements within software engineering.
• Review and analyze basic or tactical software engineering assignments or challenges.
• Present recommendations for resolving low to moderately complex situations.
• Exercise independent judgment while developing an understanding of function policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Provide information to client personnel in Software Engineering.

Requirements

• Experience with Spark, Hadoop, and Big Data.
• Experience with Spark SQL, Streaming, and data frame/dataset API.
• Experience with Spark query tuning and performance optimization.
• Deep understanding of Hadoop / Cloud platforms, HDFS, ETL/ELT processes, and Unix shell scripting.
• Experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL.
• Experience with SQL & NoSQL database integration with Spark (MS SQL Server and MongoDB).
• Deep understanding of distributed systems (CAP theorem, partition and bucketing, replication memory layouts, consistency).
• Experience in microservices development.
• Experience building cloud-ready enterprise solutions in AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF).
• Experience with Apache Kafka or Confluent Enterprise.
