About the position

Airbus Robotics is looking for a Software Engineer 3 to join our Engineering team based in Mukilteo, WA. The position involves designing, prototyping, and testing medium and high-level software in a mixed computing environment, focusing on full stack development, security and access control, and data management. The role requires improving existing software based on customer and colleague requests, assisting in the design of new systems, diagnosing technical issues, and providing technical support. The Software Engineer will also lead projects, manage teams, and develop junior engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Design, prototype, and test medium and high-level software.
  • Develop full stack applications with ownership over server and browser technologies.
  • Improve existing software based on requirements and requests.
  • Assist in the design process of new systems and architectures.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues across various domains.
  • Provide technical support for performance, installation, optimization, and maintenance.
  • Perform hands-on work with physical or virtual robotic systems.
  • Lead projects and provide technical leadership.
  • Develop and execute project plans, setting goals and KPIs.
  • Guide and train other members of the project team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Software or Computer Engineering or related field.
  • Seven or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Five or more years of experience with a Master’s Degree.
  • Three or more years of experience with a PhD.
  • Full stack development experience with JavaScript, Typescript, Json, React, and Node.js.
  • Basic networking and database experience.
  • Strong usability design sense for UI screens or Web APIs.
  • Experience in UI/UX design best practices.
  • Scripting experience in Python and shell.
  • Experience with protocols such as HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, REST APIs, and others.
  • Ability to understand, develop, and debug high-level software routines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AngularJS.
  • Experience on projects involving physical hardware systems.
  • Knowledge of modern programming practices.
  • Cloud experience.
  • Proficient in reading/interpreting JSON and XML.
  • Experience with source configuration management tools (git).
