Software Engineer, AI Intern (Winter 2026)

About the position

Notion is on a mission to empower individuals and teams to tailor software to solve problems and take on challenges. Since 2016, we have been growing rapidly, serving customers like OpenAI, Toyota, and Figma. We are looking for passionate individuals to join our diverse and creative team. This internship will take place from January 26 to April 17, requiring in-person work at our NY or SF office for two Anchor Days and a majority of the week.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, secure, tested, and documented code.
• Design & enhance the Notion AI product with new capabilities.
• Develop, fix and debug software across our full stack: web services, databases, applications, tools.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, graduating before December 2026.
• Previous internship experience.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Typescript, Node.js, or Python.
• Ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Expertise with specific technologies including Typescript, React, Python.
• Familiarity with computing pioneers like Ada Lovelace, Douglas Engelbart, and Alan Kay.
• Interests outside of technology, such as in art, history, or social sciences.
