(“SEL”) seeks professional, innovative and detailed individuals for our Software Engineer - Cybersecurity position located at our headquarters in Pullman, Washington. Responsibilities

• Engage in the design, development, implementation, and testing of SEL firmware and software systems in connection with cybersecurity-related SEL R&D initiatives.
• Collaborate with SEL Hardware Engineers and develop and refine an understanding of SEL hardware and software interactions.
• Refine a strong working knowledge of SEL's power systems and related technologies and the interplay of those technologies with SEL's software and firmware systems.
• Identify, measure, follow, and improve SEL's systems software engineering, cybersecurity, and associated R&D processes by closely studying, discussing, and questioning those procedures in meetings with more senior engineers.
• Review all Software Requirement Specifications (SRS) created or modified during a project and provide detailed analysis from a cybersecurity standpoint.
• Identify potential vulnerabilities in software requirements and propose solutions to mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with the software development teams to ensure secure coding practices are followed.
• Develop and implement security protocols and procedures in line with industry best practices and foster a culture of security awareness across R&D, educating members about the latest cybersecurity threats and prevention measures.
• Conduct regular security audits and propose enhancements.
• Act as a key point of contact for all cybersecurity related issues and queries.
