About the position

Collins Aerospace’s Strategic Solutions team is looking for an exceptionally motivated Engineer that is passionate about collaborating with High-Performance Teams to create mission critical solutions supporting Mission Systems. Our Software Engineers work in an exciting, adaptive, and engaging environment enabling rapid learning to drive success. This position will support the shaping of the future of NC3 defense systems for the armed forces. This position is located onsite in Richardson, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Team up with a high-performance software team, collaborating with fellow Software engineers, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Software Architects, and other teams.
  • Support requirements decomposition and derivation to produce Software Requirements.
  • Participate in the design of the capabilities producing UML and SysML diagrams.
  • Produce high quality mission critical software.
  • Participate in code and related artifacts peer reviews.
  • Create test cases and tests.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance.
  • Knowledge in UML, SysML, MBSE and CAMEO Modeling tools.
  • Knowledge in requirements analysis, requirements decomposition and derivation.
  • Knowledge in virtualization.
  • Knowledge in microservices, containers and orchestrators.
  • Knowledge in CI/CD.
  • Understanding Agile SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
  • Understanding Graphical User Interfaces with Java frameworks, such as Swing or JavaFx.
