About the position

The Texas Institute for Electronics (TIE) is a University of Texas at Austin-supported semiconductor consortium of state and local government, preeminent defense electronics and semiconductor companies, national labs and nationally recognized academic institutions. Our mission is to develop and execute a state-of-the-art 3D Heterogenous Integration manufacturing technology roadmap, and to provide critical pilot manufacturing capabilities to address national security needs and catalyze domestic economic growth. Responsibilities

  • Conducts software development for novel semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Assists in researching and procurement of various equipment sub-systems.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong software development skills in a variety of languages, including C, C++, Python, or some other combination of low-level and high-level languages.
  • Expertise with MATLAB, Simulink, or related control and simulation software.
  • Strong understanding of software structure, architectural design, and object-oriented programming, as well as build systems, revision control, and software lifecycle management.
  • Experience writing and working with software requirements and specifications.
  • Five years' experience in software engineering or other relevant disciplines.
  • Goal-oriented and ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in a research or start-up environment.
  • Prior experience in software development for hardware control and instrumentation.
