About the position
The Office Growth and Experiences team (OGX) is an experienced and highly passionate group at Microsoft that builds and maintains end-to-end ownership of Office across all platforms, desktop and mobile. Empowering developers with exceptional opportunities for ownership, autonomy, and professional growth as we tackle complex problems across Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android. OGX is responsible for a wide breadth of areas including best-in-class UX, next-gen collaboration, business-critical fundamentals, and driving user engagement for millions of users across our multiple ecosystems. Within OGX, FIRE team focuses on the foundational components, enterprise features, and the fundamentals of Office applications on the Apple platforms, such as performance & reliability. As a Software Engineer II you will collaborate with teams across Office to improve the performance & reliability of Office application boot, file I/O, real-time collaboration, authentication, mobile application management, and link open experiences, as we continue to elevate Office’s capabilities on the Apple platforms.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teams across Office to improve performance and reliability of Office applications.
- Focus on foundational components and enterprise features of Office applications on Apple platforms.
- Enhance performance & reliability of Office application boot, file I/O, real-time collaboration, authentication, and mobile application management.
- Drive user engagement for Office applications across multiple ecosystems.
Requirements
- Experience in software engineering, particularly in performance and reliability.
- Familiarity with Office applications and their functionalities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Apple platforms (iOS, macOS).
- Knowledge of UX design principles.
- Understanding of real-time collaboration technologies.
