About the position

The Software Engineer will be a member of a small team focusing on developing services and applications in a DevSecOps based environment in support of DIA. Engineering will be performed on Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS) and National Security Agency Network (NSANet) connected systems. The ideal candidate will have a history of direct involvement with successful software development, testing and sustainment.

Responsibilities

  • Understanding user requirements and strategizing software solutions
  • Supporting development of applications and capabilities within Zero Trust Environments
  • Updating and refactoring existing/legacy software applications into web-based applications
  • Creating and optimizing in-application SQL statements and back-end access from other applications
  • Ensuring performance, security, and availability of databases
  • Profiling server resource usage and optimizing as necessary
  • Participating in code reviews and contributing to architectural decisions

Requirements

  • Must possess an active Top Secret clearance (SCI eligible)
  • Minimum of five+ (5+) years of software development experience
  • Extensive coding experience in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3 (SASS/LESS), React.js, Angular, or Vue.js (with emphasis on React for UI modernization), Node.js, Java, Python, PHP, or C#
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and Web Services integration
  • Database experience with SQL-based databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server) and familiarity with NoSQL solutions (MongoDB, Redis)
  • Version Control & Collaboration Tools experience with Git, GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket, Jira or Azure DevOps
  • Experience migrating or modernizing legacy applications and ability to read, understand, and refactor existing legacy codebases
  • Knowledge of legacy technologies (e.g., older Java EE applications, ColdFusion, Classic ASP)
  • CI/CD practices using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps pipelines
  • Containerization experience (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Infrastructure-as-code tools experience (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Cloud & Infrastructure experience with AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or other FedRAMP-compliant cloud platforms
  • Understanding of networking, virtualization, and storage concepts
  • Must currently hold a DoDM 8140.03 IAT II certification (SSCP or Security+ CE with appropriate CE/OS certificate) or be able to obtain within six months
