One of our companies is currently looking for a Software Engineer | Infrastructure in New York. As a Software Engineer focused on Infrastructure, you’ll be instrumental in designing and evolving the backend systems that power mission-critical financial services. You’ll work on high-scale challenges related to database performance, container orchestration, and real-time event queues, while collaborating across engineering teams to implement best practices. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on ownership, scalability, and solving complex technical problems. You'll help shape the long-term technical roadmap while mentoring others and supporting key platform components in production.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement core infrastructure systems including databases, queues, and container orchestration
- Scale production infrastructure using technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes/ECS, Kafka, and PostgreSQL
- Collaborate cross-functionally to drive adoption of cloud-native practices and ensure system resilience
- Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code tooling using Terraform
- Improve reliability, performance, and deployment velocity of backend services
- Troubleshoot and resolve critical production issues as part of an on-call rotation
- Contribute to engineering culture through mentorship and peer collaboration
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience architecting and deploying large-scale infrastructure systems
- Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure in production environments
- Proficiency in Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks
- Strong foundation in an object-oriented programming language
- Expertise in at least one of the following areas: Scalable SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), Real-time messaging systems (Kafka, Celery, SQS, etc.), Container orchestration (ECS, Kubernetes), load balancing, and web server setup
- Ability to quickly understand customer needs and deliver impactful technical solutions
- Passion for operational excellence, performance tuning, and systems design
