Software Engineers at Palantir build software at scale to transform how organizations around the world use data. As a Defense Tech Software Engineer Intern, you'll have an opportunity to grow more quickly than you ever envisioned, as you contribute high-quality code directly to Palantir's Defense products. Palantir's defense product vertical builds mission-critical products for the modern warfighter, enabling them to securely integrate and visualize their data, perform rich analyses, and build sophisticated, full-fledged programs such as common operating pictures, alert-triaging inboxes, and resource allocation planning tools driven by rich-ML models. Our customers use our defense offering to drive core operations within their organizations - these programs are relied upon for daily operations in the command centers and battlefronts of militaries across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Support work specifically focusing on delivering Palantir Defense capabilities to critical mission partners.
  • Be involved throughout the product lifecycle - from idea generation, design, and prototyping to execution and shipping.
  • Collaborate closely with technical and non-technical counterparts to understand customer problems and build products that tackle them.

Requirements

  • Engineering background in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, and Physics.
  • Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools.
  • Active US Security clearance, or eligibility and willingness to obtain a US Security clearance prior to start of internship.
  • Experience coding in programming languages, such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, or similar languages.
  • Must be planning on graduating in 2027.

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with a variety of individuals, including engineers, users and non-technical team members.
  • Willingness to learn and make decisions independently, and the ability to ask questions when needed.
