About the position
Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the most trusted driver. Since its start as the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, Waymo has focused on building the Waymo Driver-The World's Most Experienced Driver-to improve access to mobility while saving thousands of lives now lost to traffic crashes. The Waymo Driver powers Waymo One, a fully autonomous ride-hailing service, and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. The Waymo Driver has provided over one million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving tens of millions of miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 13+ U.S. states. The ML Platform team builds tools & infra that empower all ML Engineers at Waymo to experiment & deploy ML models efficiently. These systems include solutions for data generation, feature store, bulk inference, lineage tracking, and dataset management. We are looking for a software engineer to join our team to build highly scalable data infrastructure to help scale Waymo's datasets to power the ever-growing ML models.
Responsibilities
- Report into our Head of ML Platform
- Design and build the next generation data generation framework at Waymo.
- Collaborate with ML practitioners on designing the schema & infrastructure in managing the ML datasets.
- Collaborate with other infra teams to make sure we have an efficient end-to-end data pipeline for model training.
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional experience in the field of software engineering
- Experience in programming C++
- Experience with building highly scalable distributed system
