About the position

Join a fast-moving, AI-native product team on a mission to transform how people solve everyday home issues. In this role, you’ll develop and ship smart, intuitive product experiences that help users describe and address home needs through multimodal interactions. From integrating LLMs and vision models to building intelligent backend services, you’ll be part of a forward-thinking team redefining the home services journey. You’ll collaborate closely with designers, researchers, and product managers while staying hands-on with the latest AI technologies in a user-focused, iterative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement end-to-end features that simplify user input and drive intelligent hiring experiences.
  • Build backend services and APIs supporting AI-powered flows like photo or voice-based inputs and dynamic guidance.
  • Integrate LLMs, vision models, and structured intelligence into seamless user experiences.
  • Collaborate across engineering, product, research, and design to prototype and test multimodal interactions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in AI system quality, latency, and reliability in close partnership with infra and ML teams.
  • Own and evolve systems that interpret messy real-world input into clear, actionable data.
  • Contribute to a fast-paced, experimentation-driven development culture focused on learning and innovation.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on building user-facing product experiences.
  • Deep interest in AI and a track record of exploring or using LLMs or vision models in real-world or side projects.
  • Experience working in at least one major backend language (Go or Python preferred); familiarity with Swift, Kotlin, or Java a plus.
  • Understanding of relational and non-relational databases such as Postgres, MySQL, or DynamoDB.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML tools and techniques like context engineering, model fine-tuning, and performance monitoring.
  • Strong product sense and a desire to solve real user problems with emerging technology.
  • Collaborative mindset, capable of working cross-functionally and contributing to both technical and UX decisions.

  • Competitive salary depending on location: $169,600 – $219,500 in San Francisco Bay Area, San Jose, NYC, or Seattle; $152,700 – $197,600 in Austin, DC, CA, MA, NJ, or WA; $144,200 – $186,600 in all other US locations.
