This is an opportunity to be part of the server infrastructure team bringing better TV to 270 million monthly active Google TV and other Android TV OS devices. The TV team has members across a wide range of functions like UI/UX, product management, program management, Android engineers, Google back-end server engineers and data analytics. It includes several long-time Googlers, and new external hires. In this team you will have an opportunity to work cross functionality, growing your skills. Google TV is redefining the TV experience to make it highly personalized, Google-smart, and content-forward to help users access the world’s media. Through recent launches like Chromecast with Google TV, we bring together the best of Google. Google TV is focused on scaling across the OEM ecosystem; working closely with third-party streaming partners plus many teams across Google (for example: Ads, Play, and YouTube); and building a business on TV platforms, OTT devices, and mobile devices. With millions of active users of our products plus being amidst the quickly evolving media and entertainment industry, there are plenty of opportunities for the team and individuals in it.
Responsibilities
- Work on building the server which supports Google TV clients and interacts with the TV recommendation and data systems.
- Work on building a generic framework for running evaluations for LLM generated content across the TV server stack.
- Infrastructure to generate custom pages for TV using LLMs.
- Server infrastructure to support evals for Large Language Models (LLM) generated content and Agentic AI support on TV interfacing with Google agentic infra back-ends.
- Support compliance, regulations, security in the TV server.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java or C++).
Nice-to-haves
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
- Experience in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering.
- Experience with Android.
- Experience with large language models or GenAI.
- Experience working with two or more from the following: Unix/Linux environments, mobile application development, distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval, networking, developing large software systems, or security software development.
