We are looking for a hands-on, technically skilled Software Engineer to join our team. This role is focused exclusively on maintaining and improving existing systems rather than building new product features. You will be responsible for ensuring application health, resolving incidents, and supporting the development teams with real-time, actionable insights and bug fixes. This role is challenging – above and beyond the day-to-day responsibilities, you’ll have a big role within a fast-paced team. This position will report to the Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, reproduce, and resolve frontend and backend issues across our codebase.
  • Debug problems by analyzing logs, reviewing PRs, and replicating issues in staging environments.
  • Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and development teams to ensure smooth releases and issue resolution.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify anomalies using tools like Splunk, Heap and AWS Logs.
  • Own production support issues end-to-end, from root cause analysis to fix deployment.
  • Write and maintain documentation for known issues, fixes, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders during incidents and post-mortems.

Requirements

  • Full-Stack Development Experience: Ability to work with both frontend (React and Typescript) and backend (Python) codebases; can read and modify code to resolve bugs independently.
  • Debugging & Troubleshooting: Skilled in isolating root causes, analyzing logs, and reproducing issues.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Familiarity with modern deployment workflows and tools.
  • Version Control: Proficient with Git and capable of investigating regressions using commit histories and diffs.
  • Monitoring & Alerting: Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Heap and AWS Logs.
  • SQL/Database Querying: Comfortable writing SQL queries to support debugging and data verification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in e-commerce or retail tech.
  • Proficiency with AWS and cloud-native architecture.
  • Background in technical support or production system troubleshooting.
