About the position

Work Tasks for Software Product Test Engineer include: Requirements analysis. Test plan, test case and test report generation. Equipment and network configuration and system building for test environment. Test execution and analysis. Analysing and debugging software integration issues on target hardware and software environments. Working in a cross functional team as part of System development. Configuration management. Analysing and defining task requirements. Problem investigation and resolution. Input to internal and external meetings. Provide support to: Programme Manager, Task Lead Engineer, Software Dev & Testing, System Integration, Specialist Engineering Areas (inc. Safety, Security, ILS).

Requirements

  • Appropriate Educational qualification (degree level preferred but HND Certification considered)
  • Knowledge and Vocational background in an Engineering (system, hardware, software, electronic communications, and computer systems) or related discipline
  • Experience with HPQC/ALM desirable
  • Experience of the Software Engineering Life Cycle
  • Working knowledge of networking infrastructure
  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • High attention to detail, with strong configuration management control
  • Ability to present at progress reviews and contribute productively
  • Capable of analysing and debugging software integration issues on target hardware and software environments
  • Knowledge of the BCIP system is desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of Tactical C4I Systems
  • IT literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Motivation, integrity, professionalism, flexibility, commitment and innovation
  • Ability to work under pressure in a complex and rapidly changing environment

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with HPQC/ALM
