About the position

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Mid-Level Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our IC Design products team. In this role, you will validate complex EDA software applications, develop and execute comprehensive test plans, and ensure our products meet the highest quality standards before release to our customers in the semiconductor industry.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute test cases for IC design, verification, and implementation tools
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard and internal tools
  • Validate new features and ensure backward compatibility with previous tool versions
  • Verify software functionality against product requirements and specifications
  • Identify, document, and track software defects through resolution
  • Perform regression testing to ensure stability of existing features
  • Create and maintain test environments that simulate customer design flows
  • Collaborate with developers to reproduce and isolate issues
  • Document test procedures, results, and product functionality
  • Participate in product design reviews and quality gate meetings

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in software quality assurance
  • Understanding of semiconductor design flows and EDA tools is a plus
  • Experience with test automation and scripting (Python, Perl, or Tcl)
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle and QA methodologies
  • Familiarity with bug tracking systems (JIRA, Bugzilla)
  • Experience with version control systems (Git, Perforce)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in scripting languages, particularly Tcl and Python
  • Understanding of Unix/Linux environments
  • Experience with continuous integration tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI)
  • Familiarity with database concepts for test data management
  • Knowledge of testing web-based and client-server applications
  • Understanding of IC design concepts (desirable)
  • Familiarity with one or more areas of IC design (digital, analog, mixed-signal)
  • Knowledge of standard IC design file formats (GDSII, LEF/DEF, Verilog, SPICE)
  • Experience with semiconductor design flows and methodologies
  • Understanding of design rule checking (DRC), layout vs. schematic (LVS), and related verification concepts
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, Si2)
  • Experience with Siemens/Mentor Graphics EDA tools
  • ISTQB certification or other relevant QA certifications
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies
  • Experience testing high-performance computing applications
  • Understanding of cloud deployment models for EDA tools
