Software Quality Assurance Engineer, Vertica Job Description
This is a rare opportunity to work on the core team of Quality Engineers that handle terabytes of user data and is on the leading edge of large scale data analytics. You will work on the component that tests every query processed by the Vertica Analytic Database and integration with other tools and have the potential to make a large impact on our business.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implements test plans and cases to cover system level database features and functionality, and integration with other services and tools.
*
Develop, execute, and analyze tests for the database server and associated integrations, specifically focused around the system level features, platform qualification and cloud/WMWare.
*
Provide technical leadership, input, and review for test strategy, planning, and execution within the team.
*
Collaborate and communicate with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
*
Provide technical direction for the database testing process and infrastructure development and maintenance.
*
Maintain and develop test infrastructure.
*
Provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, or other Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
* Minimum 4-6 years experience
Knowledge and Skills:
* Advanced knowledge of Linux / Unix.
* Strong quality assurance methodology/process skills.
* Knowledge of database internals, SQL.
* Experience with VMWare and AWS.
* Experience with distributed systems.
* Experience developing test harnesses for distributed systems.
* Coding experience in more than one of the following: perl, python, shell scripting.
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
