Minotaur is a cutting-edge mission management tool that ingests data from diverse sensors on manned and unmanned surveillance aircraft. It empowers operators across all branches of the military to enhance their ability to identify and track targets from both sea and land. In this dynamic role, you'll be instrumental in testing prototype solutions that address critical military operational shortfalls. Working as part of an established team with a proven track record of fielding highly regarded capabilities, you'll contribute to research, conceptualization, design, implementation, and evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains standards for software systems quality operating methods, processes, and procedures.
- Conducts evaluation of software systems activities including requirements, design, development, documentation, integration, test, verification and validation.
- Defines appropriate measures to ensure product quality.
- Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives.
- Ensures that projects and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts.
- Reviews software systems design, change specifications, and plans against contractual and/or process requirements.
- Provides or directs verification and validation of software system requirements, traceability, and testability.
- Devise and apply testing procedures for both HII’s Minotaur product and from outside vendors.
- Review software requirements and prepare test scenarios.
- Participate in design reviews and provide input on requirements, product design, and potential problems.
- Test creation, development, execution, and closure.
- Analyze test results on database impacts, errors or bugs, and usability.
- Perform moderately complex analysis and troubleshooting.
- Design of both manual and automated test procedures.
- Prepare reports on all aspects related to software testing carried out and reporting to the design team.
- Support system integration events on various aircraft during ground/flight tests.
- Potential to fly on aircraft to support system integration, test, and operator training.
Requirements
- 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
- 1-2 years experience software testing/development in a Linux command line environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a close team environment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US level Secret clearance.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelors Degree in Software, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- 0 - 2 years experience in leading test and test automation teams.
- Experience with network communication protocols (IP, TCP, UDP, etc.).
- Scripting in Python, Bash, CSH, etc.
- Agile software development methodology.
- Active US level Secret clearance.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully apply educational background to real-world engineering problems.
