About the position

The Specialist, Marketing position is responsible for overseeing the development, coordination, and execution of digital communications efforts, including all NIB, NSITE, and Heard & Empowered social media channels. The role involves collaboration with multiple departments and external stakeholders to create video and audio stories, podcast episodes, digital graphics, social media content, and written materials to promote the organization and its mission. The Specialist will report to the Program Director, Communications, and work closely with the Marketing and Communications team in coordinating and tracking the production of collateral, advertising, and marketing materials, including product information, data, and photos.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the NIB brand and products/services by creating, editing, and posting engaging content on multiple platforms, such as YouTube, social media, and podcasts.
  • Collaborate actively with relevant teams to coordinate and manage multiple content calendars to maintain a consistent publishing/posting schedule.
  • Define the owners of each deliverable pertaining to marketing and communications campaigns.
  • Manage performance dashboards and report on progress.
  • Lead the development of content initiatives, ensuring consistency in terms of style, quality, tone, and optimization for search and user experience for all channels.
  • Lead the design and production process for marketing and communications collateral, including magazines, banners, brochures, and other pieces.
  • Conduct ongoing testing to gauge content and image accuracy, collaborating with owners to revise as needed.
  • Participate in developing and executing marketing and communications campaigns, including email, social media, and webinars, to generate leads and support sales efforts.
  • Collaborate with other communications team members on marketing and advertising projects.
  • Assist in the management of the online photo library, organizing and tagging incoming photos, and fulfilling photo requests for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in keeping the workrooms stocked with current marketing collateral.
  • Proof design projects to ensure current brand guidelines are followed.
  • Provide design assistance on projects on an as-needed basis.
  • Assist with proofing and copy-editing NIB marketing and communications collateral.
  • Assist with content on channel support portals for products including images, product descriptions, and other product characteristics.
  • Assist with department administrative functions, including mailing/shipping, invoicing, PowerPoint production, and scheduling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, business, multimedia communications, or relevant discipline from a regionally accredited university or college.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of related work experience in marketing communications, business administration, data management, and/or production coordination.
  • Ability to tell a story using words and images and create content that attracts an audience.
  • Skilled in long-form, short-form, and real-time content creation and distribution strategies and tactics.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel.
  • Intermediate experience with the Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Detail-oriented and organized to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to work efficiently unaided and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills.
