Sr Associate Software Development Engineer

About the position

At Workday, we are seeking a Software Development Engineer to join the Config Privacy team and help us build the Privacy frameworks for all of Workday developers. In this role, you will implement features and prototypes, including providing detailed design in collaboration with Senior and Principal engineers. The Config Privacy team, part of the Security Platform organization, is at the heart of privacy at Workday. Our mission is to enable teams across Workday to have a strong privacy position through internal libraries and frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality, reliable and maintainable code to build libraries/frameworks.
• Collaborate with the team members to review architectural design and code.
• Collaborate with technical leads and product managers to help to shape our products.
• Collaborate in an inclusive environment with other teams to brainstorm efficient solutions and alternatives.
• Think creatively and consider issues from a customer perspective, while bringing a pragmatic approach to solving issues.
• As a part of an agile development team, work with peer engineers of various subject areas, product managers and test automation engineers to deliver privacy platform improvements to support Workday application development.

Requirements

• 3+ years of proven experience with software development.
• 2+ years of object-oriented design and programming with Java.
• Experience contributing to or leading test strategy for large-scale software applications.
• Experience developing micro services, distributed systems, concurrency, and multithreading.
• Take ownership of deliverables from end to end, including requirements, design, implementation, and test.

Nice-to-haves

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to a wide variety of audiences.
• Solid understanding of XO, WATS and WARP technologies, and Skylab desired for internal candidates.
• Experience with SaaS security infrastructure.
