About the position

As part of the U.S. Client Marketing team, the Senior Marketing Manager will be responsible for deepening client relationships through the sell-in and delivery of marketing services for clients, including merchants, cobrand partners, and payment ecosystem stakeholders. The individual will plan marketing strategies and partnership initiatives to grow business with clients through the activation of marketing analyses, platforms & initiatives, and strategic use of sponsorship assets. The Senior Marketing Manager will build partnership relationships with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Product, Marketing and external agencies to deliver best-in-class marketing plans that drive business goals for the organization and their clients alike.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all marketing services for one of the organization’s financial services clients
  • Drive the strategy and execution of key marketing initiatives to drive client business growth, such as lifecycle marketing engagements, best practices, go-to-market recommendations, sponsorship marketing, events, advisory services, social/digital marketing, etc.
  • Lead marketing-related project scoping and requirements while aligning with sales and the client
  • Apply data-driven approach to marketing recommendations leveraging company data and industry research tools to capture/communicate marketing best practices and customer insights and present to clients
  • Work cross-functionally to develop and implement marketing projects that leverage the best of company resources and expertise
  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of marketing projects including escalating any deliverables, updating timelines, and communicating changes to stakeholders with limited supervisory oversight
  • Manage ad hoc requests from key stakeholders, e.g., clients, senior leadership, etc.
  • Manage project timelines and budget
  • Track and manage program results

Requirements

  • 10-15 years of work experience in a marketing capacity within the financial services or payments industry
  • Authority in multiple marketing disciplines, including brand, product, direct response, research, content, social, influencer, sponsorship, and events
  • Deep payments knowledge and understanding of market dynamics in the areas of consumer/ small business; prepaid, debit, credit, and commercial payments
  • Accomplished at building trusted relationships with cross-functional team members, key stakeholders, business leaders and clients
  • Ability to structure, manage and coordinate complex projects across multiple internal/external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence in a highly matrixed organization
  • Organized, with a natural inclination for both strategic and tactical deliverables
  • Aptitude to think creatively, identifying new and innovative ways of organizing resources and prioritizing work leading to tangible business results
  • Ability to work with limited direction, usually within a complex and ambiguous environment to drive fact-based recommendations, solutions, and decisions
  • Leadership experience working in agency and/or consulting roles involving the development and delivery of comprehensive, multi-channel marketing programs
  • Strong executive presence; excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience engaging with Executive and C-level suite audiences
