The RST RPE Senior Product Engineer is responsible for instrumentation product design and change management.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for production support engineering with respect to testing methods, procedures, and problems; device specification and yield problems; minor redesign of devices and masks; analysis of customer returns; supplier related engineering changes and optimizing device production relative to cost constraints.
- Assume responsibility for device and/or internally produced or externally purchased components after transfer into high-volume production and usually responsible for entire device manufacturing operations other than wafer fabrication.
- May assist customer in device usage problems or customer testing of complex devices.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or
- Advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
Nice-to-haves
- 4-7 years of medical device engineering experience
- Mechanical acumen with understanding of manufacturing processes for our finished products.
- Experience with a large company with a global footprint and having project management experience executing goals with cross functional teams.
- Understanding the role of a Product owner and experience using our internal change order systems.
- Understanding of the change development process (CDP) for implementing small-med-large projects.
- Understanding/experience with executing corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) and championing root cause analysis tools with ability to navigate through them with a larger team.
- Medical product development experience including hands-on experience with medical/surgical devices/instruments
