About the position

Opengear designs and manufactures products for data center and remote site management. We are a rapidly growing supplier of sophisticated data center, network and remote site management products. Our customers include tech unicorns and Fortune 100 companies. We are the leading supplier of out-of-band solutions for IT infrastructure management and are actively exploring new solutions for hyper-scale data center deployment and management. We are a global company with offices in Utah (Sandy), New Jersey (Edison) and Australia (Brisbane). We are seeking a market-facing Senior Product Manager, who will be the contact for all business matters related to Opengear appliances. The ideal candidate has the knowledge and experience to define strategies, execute them, gather market requirements, define product/service priorities, own the business roadmap and ultimately drive growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the business strategy and roadmap for part of business with all stakeholders
  • Own/responsible/accountable for P&L for Opengear appliances
  • Team with FP&A to maintain the 3-5 year plan for the business
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle, from ideation to launch, maintenance, and end-of-life management
  • Lead cross functional team to deliver growth
  • Lead development, definition and communication of strategy to deliver growth
  • Stay abreast of industry trends & present at conferences and public forums
  • Customer Engagement, establish and maintain key customer relationships
  • Lead team to deliver operational excellence
  • Lead team to deliver user experience excellence
  • Revenue, Gross Profit Margin, and market share growth
  • Customer satisfaction and retention rates
  • Product innovation and time-to-market for new solutions
  • Operational efficiency and cost management

Requirements

  • 10+ years of product management experience including network operations/management and IT infrastructure
  • Solid knowledge/experience in data center, campus, and service provider/networking and network operations or adjacent space
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to create models that drive business decisions
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles including ASC 606
  • Strong leadership and management skills, driving efforts involving global teams to fruition
  • Solid understanding of networking and server hardware design
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience working in geographically distributed teams, strong self-management skills
  • Some domestic/international travel required (about 10%). Communication with globally distributed teams often requires call attendance off local business hours
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • MBA preferred
