About the position
The position involves leading design and solution discussions with both local and global stakeholders on web applications. The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing critical web-based systems, which include both internal and client-facing applications. This role also includes building and maintaining reusable frameworks. The candidate will mentor and coach junior engineers, ensuring code quality through conducting code reviews. Close collaboration with the Product Owner, UED designer, end users, and framework users is essential to provide the best possible solutions. Additionally, the candidate will drive engineering excellence through CI/CD and automation practices, and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams globally to align on solution design and implementation.
Responsibilities
- Lead design/solution discussions with local and global stakeholders on web applications.
- Design and develop critical web-based systems (both internal & client-facing).
- Build and maintain reusable frameworks.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers.
- Own code quality and conduct code reviews.
- Work closely with Product Owner, UED designer, end users, and framework users to provide optimal solutions.
- Drive engineering excellence through CI/CD and automation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams globally to align on solution design and implementation.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8+ years' experience in developing web applications.
- Experience acting as tech lead for components/services/domains.
- Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Good programming capabilities in at least one of the frameworks: React, Vue, or Angular.
- Familiarity with backend and database technologies, including Node, Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases.
- Ability to create structure and drive progress in an ambiguous environment.
- Superb communication skills; ability to interact comfortably with both tech and non-tech colleagues.
- Experience interacting with engineering teams from multiple geo-locations.
Nice-to-haves
- Hybrid/mobile experience will be a big plus.
- Experience in front end architecture, performance tuning, and safety optimization will be a big plus.
