About the position
A registered professional nurse employed by Erlanger Medical Center is responsible for direct and/or indirect care of the patient in the BEH Surgery Pre-op Holding area and Post Anesthesia Care Unit.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and/or indirect care to patients in the BEH Surgery Pre-op Holding area and Post Anesthesia Care Unit.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care.
- Assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret information to identify each patient's requirements.
- Provide care as described in the surgical department policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills.
- Knowledge of organizational functions, policies and regulations.
- Knowledge of current trends and new developments in nursing.
- One (1) year's experience in critical care.
- Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee.
- ACLS certification.
- BLS certification completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained going forward.
Nice-to-haves
- Two (2) - Three (3) years experience in critical care preferred.
