About the position

As a Staff Engineer at Bankwest, you will be part of a team that is focused on transforming customer interactions with the bank by introducing innovative digital solutions in customer engagement. You will lead and promote continuous improvement, develop technical roadmaps, and improve the quality of technical solutions by implementing industry best practices. Your role will involve working closely with other technical leaders and product owners to document new changes and drive various initiatives, while also providing technical guidance and mentoring to engineers in the team. You will be exposed to interesting challenges as the team transitions to the cloud, and you will be embedded in a cross-functional squad that is self-managing with end-to-end responsibility.

  • Lead technical design, architecture, and implementation for new and existing features.
  • Provide thought leadership and influence technology direction across the team.
  • Provide technical governance and guidance throughout the complete solution delivery lifecycle.
  • Drive a culture where quality, excellence, and openness are championed.
  • Collaborate with peers and help grow capabilities within the squad and across the crew.

Requirements

  • Possess full-cycle engineering experience: ideation, technical design, build, testing (unit, integration, system), release, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and drive a culture of quality and excellence.
  • Strong understanding of core business and technical strategies to deliver best business outcomes.
  • Enthusiastic about leading and championing strategic practice development.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and MS Power Platform including Power Apps and Power Automate/Flow.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like Azure and AWS services.
  • Experience in building C# APIs and working with third-party APIs.
  • Knowledge of application and system security best practices.
  • Experience with Configuration as Code, source control systems (Git), SAST/DAST, and CI/CD toolsets.
  • Experience with AI Builder and Power Platform certification.
