About the position

Jobgether is a Talent Matching Platform that partners with companies worldwide to efficiently connect top talent with the right opportunities through AI-driven job matching. One of our companies is currently looking for a Staff Software Engineer in the United States. In this role, you will leverage your DevOps expertise to design, develop, and maintain infrastructure and web applications that drive forward the mission to revolutionize education for emerging engineers. You will work alongside a small but highly skilled team to modernize infrastructure, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and make impactful decisions on product features and engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools like Terraform and Ansible for small to medium-scale deployments.
  • Work on web-based applications using frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, Sinatra/Padrino, or Django, ensuring high performance and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Lead the modernization of the production infrastructure to improve scalability and stability.
  • Maintain and improve internal codebases, libraries, and systems for long-term support and efficiency.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including code reviews, unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Provide mentorship and technical support to team members and help drive the team’s success in achieving project goals.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Proficiency with web frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, Sinatra/Padrino, or Django.
  • Familiarity with Docker, containerization, and CI/CD processes.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and database design.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • A passion for education and a desire to positively impact the world through technology.
  • Previous experience with software automation and DevOps tools.
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment and handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
