About the position
Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions. The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google's products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. Responsibilities
- Drive an initial idea to a working prototype and research and experiment with the latest models and techniques.
- Develop the core infrastructure for next-gen AI surfaces and CLIs, ensuring seamless Googler experiences.
- Drive end-to-end quality and development for new SWE CUJs, building necessary evaluations and infrastructure to deliver solutions.
- Collaborate with GDM, Cloud and with other DevAI partner teams to productionize prototypes and help shape the strategic direction for our next-gen AI efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- Experience leading and influencing in cross-functional collaborations within global teams.
- Experience with Machine Learning.

- Experience with people management in a technical environment.
- Experience with Java, Python, Kotlin, or C++.
- Experience with Infrastructure Design.
- Experience with Generative AI.
