About the position

VTG is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to assist in designing, developing, and implementing graphical user interfaces (GUIs). The individual will work with a small team based out of Manassas, VA, but will also be responsible for collaborating with a larger community of organizations and government representatives from across the country. The individual will brief designs to the personnel who will be operating the systems and update based on their input. This position is primarily on site but does allow for some hybrid work. This position is located in Manassas, VA. This position is a hybrid position with remote work options and flexible schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Develop MATLAB and C++ code based on system requirements.
  • Work within a team to develop and code algorithms.
  • Work on the development of graphical user interfaces.
  • Work with customer to understand and implement system requirements.
  • Develop design artifacts.
  • Solve software implementation issues.
  • Assist in the development of System/Software Architectures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Software Engineering.
  • 4+ years of software development experience.
  • Articulate, excellent presentation skills.
  • US Citizen with the ability to maintain and obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Successful completion of background check.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4+ years of Agile software development experience.
  • Experience in MATLAB, C++ and CUDA.
  • Experience with Signal Processing Algorithms.
  • Sonar Experience.
  • Experience developing MATLAB and C++ code based on system requirements to run in CPU and/or GPU environments.
  • Experience in parallel processing.
  • Knowledge of Human-Machine Interface development, including state-of-the-industry tools and techniques.
  • Proficiency with JavaScript, CSS, HTML, XML and/or similar UX/UI languages.
  • Prior user interface development experience.
