Student Assistant - University Communications and Marketing - Student Web Analyst (Fall 2025)

About the position

The Student Assistant will support the Department of University Communications and Marketing as a Student Web Analyst on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2025. As a Student Web Analyst under the direction of the Web Content Manager, you will assist in auditing the University website to improve its performance and usability and support our efforts in competitive research and search engine optimization. Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellence in administrative assistance to ensure efficient operation of an office, department or unit of University Communications and Marketing
• Support department team members to ensure efficient operation of office and reception areas, stewarding University resources
• Deliver results and accurately perform administrative duties as assigned with high quality in a timely manner, keeping communication fluid
• Provide administrative support for a department or functional area of UCM and its leaders and staff
• Learn how to use various website analysis tools to identify issues impacting website performance and usability
• Review website pages to assist in audits of Page load speed browser/mobile friendliness Accessibility to users with disabilities (ADA compliance)
• Metadata for search engine optimization (SEO)
• Content edits for website redesign/rebranding
• Document findings and track status of issues using Google sheets and other tools
• Communicate issues to website owners using standardized email templates and generated reports
• Collaborate with other members of UCM team as required to resolve issues
• Take specific corrective actions as directed by Web Content Manager

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Nice-to-haves

• Student with Web/IT interest or experience or Design Experience
• Proficient in use of G-Suite Applications (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, etc.)
• Proficient in use of Google search engine
• Experience using WordPress

Benefits

• $9.50 per hour
• This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
